Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi

Driving Distance: Approx. 25 km Driving Time: 20 minutes

Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel for a day of relaxation. Discover the history and vibrant culture of Kenya’s capital, originally established as a railway depot and now a melting pot of diverse communities.

Day 2 Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Driving Distance: Approx. 350 km, Driving Time: 6 hours

After breakfast, journey north past the equator to Samburu, home to the unique Samburu Five—Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, and Gerenuk. Stop in Isiolo village to meet local tribespeople, then proceed to the lodge for lunch. An evening game drive introduces the arid beauty of this reserve.

Day 3 Samburu National Reserve

Start early with a game drive, capturing Samburu’s stark beauty and its unique wildlife. After lunch, head out again to track predators and observe crocodiles basking along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 4 Samburu to Marsabit National Park

Driving Distance: Approx. 250 km, Driving Time: 6–7 hours

Day 5 Marsabit to Chalbi Desert

Driving Distance: Approx. 135 km, Driving Time: 4–5 hours

Explore Marsabit town and its traditional Rendille warriors. Continue to the Chalbi Desert, a surreal flatland that transforms into a lake during heavy rains. Experience a guided walk and meet Gabbras tribespeople at the Kalacha Dida oasis.

Day 6 and Day 7 Chalbi Desert to Sibiloi National Park

Cross shifting landscapes to Sibiloi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend two days exploring its diverse habitats, fossil sites, and wildlife, including Grevy’s Zebra and Caracal. Learn about early human history at the local museum.

Day 8 & Day 9 Sibiloi to Lake Turkana
