Day 1 Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to the Springlands Hotel in Moshi for a restful night before the climb.
Overnight: Springlands Hotel (Bed & Breakfast - BB)
Distance & Time: Airport to Moshi (~40 km, 1 hour)

Day 2 Moshi to Rongai Park Gate to 1st Cave Camp

After breakfast, meet your guides and porters to finalize preparations. A scenic drive (~3 hours) brings you to Nale Moru village at Rongai Gate, the starting point of your trek. Hike through lush farmlands and pine forests, reaching 1st Cave Camp on the moorland’s edge.
Altitude: 1,950 m – 2,600 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~8 km, 3-4 hours

Day 3 1st Cave Camp to 2nd Cave Camp

Climb steadily to 2nd Cave Camp, where panoramic views of Kibo and the Eastern Ice Fields await. After lunch, trek across the moorland towards Mawenzi’s peaks.
Altitude: 2,600 m – 3,450 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~4 km, 3-4 hours

Day 4 Acclimatization at 2nd Cave Camp

Spend a relaxed morning at camp before a short trek to 3rd Cave Camp for acclimatization. Enjoy a sense of remoteness amidst rugged landscapes.
Altitude: 3,450 m – 3,630 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~5 km, 4-5 hours

Day 5 3rd Cave Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Ascend grassy slopes to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, perched beneath the dramatic Mawenzi spires. Explore the surroundings or rest to further acclimatize.
Altitude: 3,630 m – 4,330 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~6 km, 3-4 hours

Day 6 Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp

Cross the stark "Saddle" desert, a lunar-like expanse, to reach Kibo Camp at the crater’s base. Rest and prepare for the summit bid.
Altitude: 4,330 m – 4,750 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~9 km, 4-5 hours

Day 7 Kibo Camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Start your summit attempt at midnight, climbing to Gilman’s Point (~7 hours) and onward to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. After a triumphant moment at the summit, descend to Kibo and then Horombo Hut for the night.
Altitude: 4,750 m – 5,895 m – 3,720 m

Day 8 Horombo Hut to Marangu Park Gate to Moshi

Descend to Mandara Hut for lunch before continuing to Marangu Gate, where transport awaits to return you to Moshi. Receive your certificates of achievement at Springlands Hotel.
Altitude: 3,720 m – 2,700 m
Hiking Distance & Time: ~18 km, 6-7 hours
Overnight: Springlands Hotel (BB)

Day 9 Moshi to Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home, carrying memories of an extraordinary adventure.
Distance & Time: Moshi to Airport (~40 km, 1 hour)
